Call for Volunteers--The Mentor Mentee Match Project

October 12 from 12:30- 4:30 p.m. in the Jury Assembly Room Suite 301 Coleman A. Young Municipal Center. Training will cover substantive divorce law and practice.
Lakeshore Legal Aid (LLA) and the Detroit Bar Association’s new project will match new attorneys and those who want family law experience with experienced mentor attorneys. Experienced attorneys will mentor new attorneys as they handle a pro bono divorce case.

Come and join 3rdCircuit Court Chief Judge Robert Colombo and Judge Kathleen McCarthy, presiding judge of the Family Division to participate in this FREE training.
The Third Judicial Circuit’s Family Division processes over 22,000 domestic relations filings a year. In about 80% of those cases, the parties are not represented by an attorney. With only one legal aid attorney for every 10,282 low-income individuals in Michigan, the Mentor Match program could help bridge that justice gap for low income clients.
If you are a new attorney who wants experience in Family Law or an experienced attorney interested in passing on your knowledge to a new generation of lawyers, please join the Mentor Match program.

Attend the Project’s FREE Divorce Training on October 12 from 12:30- 4:30 p.m. in the Jury Assembly Room Suite 301 Coleman A. Young Municipal Center. Training will cover substantive divorce law and practice.

If you are interested in the FREE training, please contact Lynda Krupp at lkrupp@lakeshorelegalaid.org.
