Black Women Lawyers Ass'n of MI: Request for Volunteers

Thursday, January 30, 2020
06:00 PM
Location: Detroit Housing Commission

You are cordially invited to attend a meeting on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Detroit Housing Commission, 1301 E. Jefferson Ave. Detroit, MI 48207 for the Black Women Lawyers Foundation of Michigan Scholarship Fundraiser event; Les Femmes De Loi presents:“ To Catch a Fashion Thief,” which is scheduled for May 17, 2020, at the Garden Theater, Detroit. Your help is needed to staff the following committees:

Sponsorship
Ads for  Souvenir Fashion Magazine
Ticket Sales

As you are aware, education is the key to ending poverty. As African American professionals we have an obligation to sow seeds back into the village and do as Harriet Tubman did, leave no one behind. We are asking you to sign up for one of the above-named committees. For each category, i.e., sponsorship, ads and ticket sales, the person who brings in the most money will be styled (hair, clothes and makeup) and coached by Haute Entertainment, the event’s fashion consultant. Once styled and coached, these 3 individuals will have the opportunity to walk the runway to show off their fabulousness.

If you have any questions or ideas, please contact one of the Foundation board members, by sending them an email directly, or to BWLFM@att.net. You are also invited to phone Angela Williams at (313) 877-8774 for immediate assistance. Please bring your ideas and questions to the meeting on January 30, 2020, where we will make committee appointments and assign tasks. If you will be attending, please RSVP to williamsa@dhcmi.org so that we can plan some light refreshments. Please send a reply email with your name listed in one of the above categories.

Sincerely,

Hurticene Hardaway, Brenda Springs, Angela Williams, and Earlene Baggett-Hayes
