Please join us and be a part of the conversation about life and politics as Frank and Jack discuss their co-authored book—The People’s Lawyer—a book covering the life and career of Frank J. Kelley, Michigan’s 50th attorney general. Books will be available for purchase and signing. In his 90th year, and still going strong, the “Eternal General,” Frank J. Kelley, has teamed with award-winning journalist Jack Lessenberry to produce the story of Frank’s life—beginning in Detroit, then to Alpena and finally to Lansing where he became the youngest and oldest attorney general in the history of the United States. During his tenure as attorney general from 1962 to 1999 Frank Kelley dealt with a staggering array of memorable people and significant issues. Here is what Governor William Milliken has to say about The People’s Lawyer, “Frank Kelley is a man of integrity with whom I had an excellent working relationship for my entire time in Lansing, especially my fourteen years as governor. We represented different parties, but we both understood that governing is about more than partisanship. Throughout his career he consistently stood for the best interests of the people of Michigan. This book is a fascinating account of the life and times of a man I am proud to call my friend.”
