Wayne State Univ. Law School: Detroit Bankruptcy

Nathan Bomey, national business reporter for USA TODAY and author of Detroit Resurrected: To Bankruptcy and Back, will speak about his book on Tuesday April 4, 2017, at Wayne State University Law School’s Partrich Auditorium, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Bomey was a reporter for more than three years for the Detroit Free Press, where he covered General Motors and Detroit’s bankruptcy. His talk is part of the Library of Michigan’s Michigan Notable Books lecture series, which annually honors the best books about the state. The talk will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:

  • Professor Laura B. Bartell, Wayne State University Law School
  • Professor Peter J. Hammer, Director, Damon J. Keith Center/Wayne State University Law School
  • Professor John E. Mogk, Wayne State University Law School
  • Ryan C. Plecha, attorney for the Retired Detroit Police & Fire Fighters Association and the Detroit Retired City Employees Ass'n

The lecture and panel discussion will be in the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium at the Wayne State University Law School, 471 W. Palmer St. Parking is available for $7.50 (credit or debit cards only) in Parking Structure No. 1 across West Palmer Street from the Law School. The lecture is sponsored by the Michigan Humanities Council and the Library of Michigan Foundation.
