Public Act 27 of 2020 – Occupational Code, Effective February 4, 2020

HB 4335 (Yaroch) Occupations; barbers; education and training requirements for cosmetology and barber licensing; revise. Amends secs. 1110 & 1205 of 1980 PA 299 (MCL 339.1110 & 339.1205).

 

Public Act 26 of 2020 – Michigan Liquor Control Code of 1998, Effective February 4, 2020

SB 0588 (Moss) Liquor; spirits; refunds for spirits sold by a specially designated distributor; allow. Amends 1998 PA 58 (MCL 436.1101 - 436.2303) by adding sec. 609d.

Public Act 22 of 2020 – The State School Aid Act of 1979, Effective January 31, 2020

SB 0650 (Theis) School aid; membership; utilization by certain districts of a teacher of record for dropout recovery program who is employed or contracted through education management organization; allow without certain limitation. Amends sec. 23a of 1979 PA 94 (MCL 388.1623a).

Public Act 20 of 2020 – Occupational Code, Effective April 26, 2020

SB 0434 (Nesbitt) Occupations; cosmetologists; licensure of mobile cosmetology units; provide for, and make general revisions. Amends secs. 1201, 1203, 1203b, 1204, 1205, 1211, 1217 & 1218 of 1980 PA 299 (MCL 339.1201 et seq.); adds sec. 1205a & repeals sec. 1214 of 1980 PA 299 (MCL 339.1214).

Public Act 18 of 2020 – State Employees' Retirement Act, Effective January 27, 2020

HB 4156 (Vaupel) Retirement; state employees; retired psychiatric health care workers to provide services at facilities operated by the department of health and human services; allow under certain circumstances without forfeiting retirement benefits. Amends sec. 68c of 1943 PA 240 (MCL 38.68c).

HB 4051 (Whiteford) Mental health; other; Michigan CARES hotline; create. Amends 1974 PA 258 (MCL 330.1001 - 330.2106) by adding sec. 165.

 

Public Act 11 of 2020 – Michigan Memorial Highway Act, Effective January 27, 2020

SB 0527 (Victory) Highways; memorial; Beacon Boulevard in Grand Haven; designate as the "Officer Scott Flahive Memorial Highway". Amends sec. 11 of 2001 PA 142 (MCL 250.1011) & adds sec. 11c.

 

Public Act 10 of 2020 – An Act to Provide for the Protection of Children Through the Licensing and Regulation of Child Care Organizations, Effective January 27, 2020

SB 0539 (Bizon) Human services; children's services; criminal history check for child caring institution staff and retention of certain data; update as required by the federal families first prevention services act. Amends secs. 5d & 5k of 1973 PA 116 (MCL 722.115d & 722.115k).

Public Act 3 of 2020 – Neighborhood Enterprise Zone Act, Effective January 27, 2020

SB 0319 (Moss) Economic development; neighborhood enterprise zones; definition of rehabilitated facility; modify. Amends secs. 2, 7, 10 & 11 of 1992 PA 147 (MCL 207.772 et seq.) & adds sec. 2a.

 

Public Act 2 of 2020 – An Act to Revise, Consolidate, and Add to the Laws Relating to the Establishment, Opening, Discontinuing, Vacating, Closing, Altering, Improvement, Maintenance, and Use of the Public Highways and Private Roads, Effective January 27, 2020

SB 0323 (Victory) Counties; boards and commissions; powers and duties of county road commissioners to be exercised by the county board of commissioners; remove sunset, and require a vote of the electors before transferring powers and duties of an elected county road commission to an appointed county road commission. Amends sec. 6, ch. IV of 1909 PA 283 (MCL 224.6).
