From the docks to the Grand Hotel

Once you arrive on the island, look for one of the Grand Hotel’s horse-drawn carriages, or any of the many horse-drawn taxis, for your leisurely ride up to the Grand Hotel. The cost is $8 per person, cash only. If you prefer, the Grand Hotel is a 15- to 20-minute uphill walk from the boat docks.

Your luggage will be tagged at the ferry dock and transferred to the Grand Hotel. When you check-in, present your luggage tags at the front desk. Your bags will be delivered directly to your room. Check-in starts at 4 p.m.

Tip: If you are arriving close to 6:00 p.m., you may want to bring your evening wear to the hotel because luggage transfer may take up to three hours to get to the hotel from the dock.

At both docks, day parking is free offsite, standard parking is $20 per night offsite (with free shuttle service). Premium dockside parking is $45 at Mackinac City and $40 at St. Ignace.

The cost for luggage handling will be $4/item roundtrip.  Further instructions will be provided at time of arrival, including the option to travel with your belonging on your lap to avoid a cost.

Valet parking is available for $50 (outdoor) per day. Unsecured off-site parking is free with a complimentary shuttle. Self- Park off-site in a secured lot for $20 per day (Mackinac City only). Premium dockside parking is available in Mackinac City only, $30 per day.
