Internet

Technology Core Competency

Lawyers use the Internet in a multitude of ways in the day-to-day practice of law. They engage in research, file documents, use cloud services for data storage and software-as-a-service, and interact with others through a host of social media and other platforms. Each of these and more can come with risks if security is not in place. Knowledge of these security needs and ensuring they are in place and up to date is imperative. A law practice should have written procedures and protocols in place for Internet usage, safety, and security, and review and update these continuously.
